For the first day of fall we watched one of the most remarkable things I've ever seen: a migration of about 10,000 swifties on their way to Argentina making their annual pitstop in a Portland elementary school chimney. April took pictures so I'll post one when she sends, but it was truly inspiring. I don't even know how to describe the dance they performed, but I wouldn't be surprised if those birds trained Cirque du Soleil.
